WHY DID YOU JOIN?: When I was first introduced to Dallas China Care, the club was a new organization at UTD. While the efforts of China Care are known and supported throughout the country, the Dallas chapter was in its infancy; and as such, lacked both the members and word-of-mouth that help clubs flourish. After listening to the meaningful and important efforts of Dallas China Care, I was immediately on-board. This organization looks to bring important care and knowledge, that many of us take for granted, to those who are in need and are grateful for any assistance they can receive. China Care provides much needed funds to send to orphanages is China to pay for medical expenses and education for children. I can hardly think of a better cause to support and raise money for. Furthermore, the playgroups and teen events the club hosts are an amazing opportunity to mentor young children. It gives adopted children in the area the chance to meet others in similar situation and allows them to benefit from from the friendship and advice of someone older than themselves. This club is about paying-it-forward and doing the best you can to benefit another person. Being a member of this club is extremely rewarding and enjoyable, and I am glad that I made the decision to join.
FUN FACT: I love playing video games, reading books and enjoying nature. My favorite ice-cream is mint-chip and if I had to eat it for every meal, I would probably never get tired of it.
